The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) recently buzzed with excitement and national pride, hosting a truly unforgettable celebration for Qatar National Day (QND). The entire DI family – students, faculty, and staff – came together for a lively outdoor event, beautifully organized by the Communications and Public Relations Department.
Guests were immersed in a rich tapestry of Qatari heritage. The iconic Ardha, a traditional sword dance, captivated onlookers, while other folkloric performances brought the nation’s history to life. The day was packed with engaging activities, including a fun interactive Q&A session about Qatar’s fascinating history (complete with valuable prizes!), heartfelt poetry recitations, and inspiring national songs.
Adding to the unique atmosphere, a stunning display of classic vintage Qatari cars and majestic falcons showcased key elements of the nation’s authentic heritage. And of course, no Qatari celebration is complete without delicious food! Attendees savored a delightful lunch of traditional local cuisine, enjoying the taste of Qatar.
DI President Dr. Abdelwahab El-Affendi extended his warmest congratulations, highlighting Qatar’s unwavering hospitality and its reputation as one of the safest nations globally. He emphasized how QND is a cherished opportunity to unite the Institute’s diverse community, fostering a deep sense of belonging and appreciation. The celebration truly succeeded in reviving authentic Qatari values and traditions, making it a memorable day for all.
