Internationally renowned singer Mary Millben isn’t just known for her powerful voice; she’s now making waves with strong opinions on global diplomacy. Recently, Millben voiced her concern over remarks made by the President of the United States concerning Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The comments in question, shared by the US President aboard Air Force One, revolved around trade and a desire for him to be “happy.” He reportedly stated, “PM Modi is a very good man… He knew I was not happy. It was important to make me happy. They do trade, and and we can raise tariffs on them very quickly.” These words quickly garnered international attention.
Millben, taking to X (formerly Twitter), expressed her belief that while the US President may hold respect for Prime Minister Modi, his current approach towards India might be misguided. She openly shared her prayers for the President on this matter.
Furthermore, Millben passionately defended PM Modi, emphasizing that a leader of his stature isn’t obligated to respond to every comment or criticism, whether from domestic opposition or international figures. She highlighted Modi’s diplomatic maturity, stating, “The only person or persons the PM needs to make happy are the Indian people. Period. The PM understands long game diplomacy.”
She urged India’s leadership to stay focused on its national priorities, asserting that certain critical US political voices don’t represent the views of many Americans. Millben also noted that global leaders are closely watching US political developments, especially with upcoming elections, which could shape future foreign policy. Ultimately, she reiterated her support for PM Modi’s leadership, underscoring his primary duty to the people of India. “You continue to serve in the best interest of India. That’s what you were elected to do,” she affirmed.
