Arunachal Pradesh is buzzing with ambition! Chief Minister Pema Khandu recently issued a powerful call to the state’s youth: become the architects of ‘Viksit Arunachal’ (Developed Arunachal) by 2047. Speaking at the ‘Yuva Soch, Naya Arunachal’ program in Tawang, CM Khandu emphasized that the future of the state truly rests in their hands.
So, what does it mean to be an architect of this future? It’s about more than just getting a degree. The Chief Minister urged young people to dive deep into development initiatives and governance, becoming active participants in meaningful change. This means staying informed about government policies, understanding how they impact communities, and acting as a vital link between the administration and the people. Lifelong learning, beyond formal education, is key to serving society effectively.
But progress isn’t just about policies; it’s about identity. CM Khandu stressed the importance of cherishing cultural roots, encouraging youth to learn about their tribal histories and traditions. A society disconnected from its heritage risks losing its unique spirit.
On the economic front, Arunachal is powering up! Hydropower is identified as a massive opportunity, with nearly 19,000 MW of projects underway and the potential for over 50,000 MW. This includes major projects like Lower Subansiri and Dibang, set to generate substantial revenue and make the state self-reliant. Beyond energy, mining of minerals like graphite and vanadium is also being explored. The goal is clear: Arunachal must stand on its own feet, transforming from a “special category state” into a powerhouse of self-reliance. Women are also playing a crucial role, with over 1.5 lakh involved in self-help groups, driving rural economic growth.
From ‘Seva Aapke Dwar’ connecting citizens to services, to honoring unsung heroes, the path to ‘Viksit Arunachal’ is being paved. CM Khandu’s message is a clear invitation: “Nation First, Party Second, Self Last.” Embrace this vision, connect with your roots, and actively shape a prosperous Arunachal!
