Get ready to hear a lot more about Brazilian cinema! A fantastic initiative called Projeto Paradiso is making waves, elevating Brazilian talent onto the global stage. After a brilliant showing at the Rotterdam Film Festival, they’re now celebrating a massive presence at the Berlinale, one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals.
Projeto Paradiso’s “Incubator” program, designed to nurture fiction features from their earliest stages, has delivered two incredible world premieres at Berlinale: Grace Passô’s “Our Secret” and Allan Deberton’s “Gugu’s World.” Filmmakers are raving about the Incubator, calling it “fundamental” for bringing their visions to life and praising its support for crafting, funding, and crucial human connections – even helping filmmakers from outside major cities.
But the excitement doesn’t stop in Berlin! Projeto Paradiso is also setting its sights on Recife, the vibrant Brazilian city quickly becoming a film capital. This April, Recife will host their third Paradiso Talent Network national meeting, bringing together 200 film professionals, advisors, and international guests. It’s a unique opportunity for an “exceptional pool of talent” to connect and grow.
Beyond these premieres, the initiative is backing seven more Brazilian features at Berlinale and participating in the Co-Production Market, proving their commitment to long-term investment in Brazilian filmmakers. It’s clear: Projeto Paradiso isn’t just supporting films; they’re building careers and shining a bright spotlight on Brazil’s incredible cinematic future.
