The core of Trump’s frustration seems to be Starmer’s initial reluctance to allow US forces to use UK bases for military action against Iran. While some access to bases like Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford has since been granted for defensive missions, the damage to the “Special Relationship” appears significant.
