After nearly two decades as one of Hollywood’s most beloved and enduring power couples, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are officially divorced. A Nashville, Tennessee, judge finalized the dissolution of their 19-year marriage this Tuesday, marking the end of an era for fans worldwide.
The Oscar-winning actress and Grammy-winning country music superstar had quietly filed for divorce in September, keeping the details private until the legal process was complete. While the news came as a surprise to many, the couple’s settlements regarding their extensive assets and the custody of their two teenage daughters were already in place and signed the day Kidman filed.
Judge Stephanie J. Williams issued the order, noting “irreconcilable differences” that made the continuation of the marriage impractical. Both Kidman and Urban, both 58, opted not to appear at the hearing, signaling a mutual and amicable parting.
According to their settlement, Kidman will serve as the primary residential parent for their daughters, ensuring they remain living in Nashville. Significantly, neither party sought child nor spousal support, and their joint assets have been divided roughly equally.
