Bundle up, Qatar! The Meteorology Department is issuing a fresh warning for continued cold weather, bringing with it some seriously blustery conditions both on land and at sea. So, if you’re planning any outdoor adventures or heading out on the water, you’ll want to pay close attention to this update.
Expect those north-westerly winds to really pick up, potentially kicking up a fair bit of dust in certain areas. This means visibility could be a bit challenging, so take extra care, especially on the roads. Along the coast, you’ll definitely feel that chill, with scattered clouds adding to the winter vibe, particularly up north.
As the sun sets, temperatures are set to dip even further, making for some truly cold nights in parts of the country. But it’s out at sea where things get truly intense. Mariners, take note: strong north-westerly winds are expected to churn up waves reaching a whopping 11 feet! Gusts could hit 32 knots, making conditions pretty treacherous. The department is strongly advising against heading out into these rough waters.
In Doha, expect a high of around 20°C during the day, but don’t let that fool you – the wind chill will make it feel much colder. Stay warm, drive safely, and respect the warnings from the Met Department. Winter is definitely here!
