The peaceful quiet of Saturday, January 17th, was shattered for residents near University Avenue in Grand Forks. Around 7:14 a.m., an urgent call reached the Grand Forks Fire Department: a structure fire was reported at 1323 University Ave.

First responders arrived swiftly to a dramatic scene, met with smoke billowing and flames visible from the house. Without a moment’s hesitation, the dedicated personnel of the GFFD sprang into action. Their immediate and coordinated efforts proved vital, allowing them to quickly contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.

The response to this morning emergency was significant, highlighting the professionalism and readiness of our local services. The Grand Forks Fire Department deployed an impressive array of resources: five engines, a ladder truck, a command vehicle, and a dedicated team of 19 firefighters. This robust presence ensured the fire could be fought effectively and safely.
