Prince Andrew, King Charles’s brother, has officially vacated his long-time Windsor residence, Royal Lodge. This significant move follows a fresh wave of damaging revelations connecting him to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Although the former royal, 65, reportedly wished to stay in his grand home longer, the transition occurred discreetly on Monday night. Under the cover of darkness, Andrew was driven to a more modest cottage on the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Royal sources confirmed his new residence, though a temporary return to Windsor might happen during a transitional phase.
“With the latest batch of Epstein files, it was made clear to him that it was time to go,” a friend was quoted saying, emphasizing the urgency behind his departure. The perceived humiliation of leaving so discreetly reportedly influenced the timing.
King Charles had already stripped Andrew of his royal titles last October and signaled a move would be necessary as more details about his relationship with Epstein emerged. The King has consistently expressed his sympathy for abuse victims.
The latest documents, released by the U.S. Justice Department, contain emails suggesting Andrew maintained regular contact with Epstein for over two years *after* Epstein’s 2008 conviction for child sex crimes. This contradicts Andrew’s previous statements that their relationship concluded after a 2010 New York visit. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing linked to Epstein.
This departure marks another major turning point in the ongoing controversy surrounding Prince Andrew, further separating him from his former royal life.
