Epstein Files: Trump’s Oval Office Showdown with CNN

A tense exchange recently unfolded in the Oval Office as former President Donald Trump confronted CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins. What started as a press event took a sharp turn when Collins pressed Trump on the newly released Jeffrey Epstein files and the survivors seeking justice.

Collins highlighted that while Trump sought to frame the disclosures as damning only for Democrats, the files also revealed ties between Epstein and Trump allies like Elon Musk and Howard Lutnick. Trump swiftly dismissed these connections, claiming he hadn’t read the emails and confidently stated, “nothing came out about me.” He suggested it was “time for the country to get on to something else.”

However, Collins persisted, noting that many survivors were unhappy with the heavily redacted documents, including blacked-out witness interviews. She repeatedly asked what he would say to those who felt justice hadn’t been served. An irritated Trump then launched into a personal attack, calling Collins “the worst reporter” and pointedly remarking, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile.”

Collins calmly reminded him she was asking about Epstein’s abuse survivors. Trump continued his tirade, accusing her of not telling the truth and working for a “dishonest organisation” before ending the exchange by turning to another reporter.

This heated moment underscores ongoing debates about accountability, media scrutiny, and the pursuit of justice for victims in the wake of the Epstein scandal. Notably, Trump himself once called Epstein “a lot of fun to be with” and commented on his preference for “beautiful women…on the younger side.” Trump’s aides later shared the clip, suggesting he had “nuked” the reporter, highlighting the intensity of political sparring over sensitive issues.
