The Brit Awards 2026 lit up the Co-Op Arena, celebrating musical excellence with a night of incredible performances and memorable moments – not all of which made it to air! The undisputed queen of the night was Olivia Dean, who swept up an incredible four awards, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for “The Art Of Loving,” Pop Act, and Song of the Year for “Rein Me In” with Sam Fender. An emotional Dean dedicated her album win to love, urging connection in a world that “feels lovelessness.”
However, the broadcast wasn’t without its own drama. ITV notably censored presenter Jack Whitehall’s joke about Lord Peter Mandelson and, more significantly, Geese drummer Max Bassin’s “Free Palestine” shout during his acceptance speech for Best International Group. This followed a week after similar censorship debates at the Baftas, highlighting a sensitive time for live broadcasts. Scottish singer Jacob Alon also showed support for Palestine in the crowd.
Beyond the headlines, the night saw other powerful messages. Wolf Alice, winning Group of the Year, passionately advocated for supporting the UK’s independent music venues, stressing their vital role in nurturing talent. Spanish sensation Rosalia took home International Act, proudly sharing her award with fellow Spanish-speaking artists. History was also made as PinkPantheress became the first woman and youngest artist ever to win Producer of the Year!
From Lola Young’s heartfelt speech about music as a safe haven to Robbie Williams’ tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, the 2026 Brit Awards proved to be a night where music not only entertained but also resonated with important cultural conversations.
