Silence in the Storm: Owaisi Challenges PM Modi on Global Stage

AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has issued a strong challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to break his silence on the escalating conflict in West Asia and directly call on US President Donald Trump to end the war. Owaisi highlighted the severe impact on innocent lives, particularly Indian citizens, who are suffering the consequences of the ongoing hostilities.

Addressing a gathering, Owaisi pressed the Prime Minister for a full account of the recent sinking of an Iranian ship, IRIS Dena, off Sri Lanka by a US military submarine. He questioned the government’s quiet response, emphasizing that proximity to India makes such incidents a critical national concern.

Further questioning India’s sovereignty, Owaisi took strong exception to recent comments from the US Treasury Secretary regarding India’s oil imports. He asserted that India should determine its own purchasing policies, rather than accept temporary waivers from the US. He accused the ruling BJP-RSS combine of being “scared” to stand up to US influence, asking if India has “mortgaged” its freedom.

Owaisi warned that a widening war in the Gulf region poses a grave threat to the one crore Indian citizens working there, potentially leading to widespread job losses. He also raised concerns about the alleged Israeli ambition to create a ‘Greater Israel’ extending towards sacred Arab cities.

Ultimately, Owaisi’s message was clear: India must assert its independent voice on the global stage. He called for the Prime Minister to fulfill his constitutional duty by informing the nation and taking a firm stand against external pressures, rather than maintaining silence when Indian interests and citizens are at stake.
